With his hunt for the Dragon Balls finally started, he couldn't stop. He never quite expected Earth to have their own and he couldn't help but feel foolish, but this was such a gift. He didn't need to wait and go to Namek, he wouldn't need to fight through the forces of the PTO to get the Dragon Balls there. Though it was a plan for the future, it wasn't the plan for now and he needed to take this one step at a time. He needed to bring his crew back to life so they could carry on and he knew that Ukare would take his children, keep them safe and give them the life they deserved, for Ukare was the closest thing to family that those two had. Surely, they were getting along fine under Ayu's supervision, and they cared for her but Ukare had been around them for years and laid down his life trying to protect them. He needed to return, as soon as possible to give the children a sense of family, a trusted member to guide them and teach them through life.
With the objective in mind, Athren once again carried his Dragon Ball radar with him as he kept his eyes on it as he flew. He was going to the next location of a Dragon Ball. This time he was heading West, though he had no guessing as to where this one could be waiting for him. Maybe it was in the desert, maybe it was in the ocean, or maybe it was already in the possession of another. He really didn't know, the only thing he knew was that he was going to do his absolute best tonight to find it, to add it to the collection he was starting. Far too many lives were on the line for him to fail, to come home empty handed. If he couldn't find it before the sun went down, he'd try again tomorrow. He just wished the radar was more accurate and could guide him to the exact positioning of it.
On the bright side though, he was nearing the location and it was much warmer out here. He wasn't taken to the frozen north this time around, but the middle of the ocean, where the sun was high and the temperature was hot. It was a nice change it scenery. The Dragon radar had brought him to a rather small island in the middle of the vast body of water, the island had a few different levels of elevation, some trees, caves, beaches. It was a rather nice place for a tropic holiday, a place that Athren might have had to come back to in the future. He needed a relaxing holiday after everything that had happened the past year. Who guessed that his life was going to be this.. unique. Though regardless of his thoughts, he had to get to it and look for the Dragon Ball. It couldn't be that hard, could it?
With the Dragon Radar in hand, he was nearly on top of it. Though the calibration was a little off which gave him essentially a good portion of the island to look through. He would start systematically and break it down into little sections to make sure it was fully combed. After all, this dragon ball could be in the sand, a tree, under a rock, in long grass. Essentially anywhere at all, but he'd have to find it. He'd spent a good portion of his time hovering back and fourth just above the ground, looking for it and after covering the entire surface of the island, he came to the conclusion that it was below the surface, in a cave or buried. He began going through the caves and caverns, flipping every rock, searching everywhere he could think of. Though, the Dragon Ball wouldn't turn up. It was rather frustrating, but he wasn't going to be one to stop, he had to seek this thing out, he needed to find it in order to right his wrongs, to fix all the things that he broke. It was within reach, he just had to keep searching. He just needed the seven magic dragon balls.
After going through the surface of the island and some caves with no luck, Athren had decided to look beneath the water. He dove into the ocean and began to swim around, looking for any type of caves that may be awaiting him underneath and sooner rather than later, a large underwater tunnel was seen by his ocean blue eyes. The saiyan would resurface and take a deep breath in before making his swim for it. Swimming through the tunnel, he held a Ki orb in his hand to provide light for him to make the swim, though it wasn't before long that he'd reach the end and pop his head out of the water. It appeared to be a save where pirates had kept their former treasures, from first glance there was lots of loot, gold and other items laying around.
He'd force himself out of the water and onto the land and looking around he could tell that there were no other ways to get inside here, the way he came in was the only way to get there. He figured if the Dragon Ball was anywhere, it would surely have to be here, hidden within all the piles of spoils. Though, he couldn't help but wonder how long this place existed for. Some of the items looked aged, like they had been here for a long time. Was this place not used recently and if the Dragon Ball was here.. How'd it get here? Did somebody stash it away because if they did, it sure didn't look it.
Regardless of what was here, Athren would begin sorting through piles of rare discarded items.. hoping that he could find that magical Orange Orb that could help him grant his biggest wish..
